We recently added the Papatowai Country Store, Motels & Fuel, to our accommodation options. If you want to be by the beach, there are 3 x self-contained units, located a short 8 minute drive north from the "Whistling Frog" complex, at the Papatowai Beach settlement. There you can enjoy the verandah with bush setting and a short 2 minute stroll to the picture perfect, Papatowai Beach & Kings Rocks trail.

The Catlins, are rugged, remote and endowed with the largest tracts of native rainforest and endangered marine wildlife. The region is sparsely populated with stunning coastal scenery. A 'must see' during your South Island Adventure, along the famous 'Southern Scenic Route'.
